It seems as if there is no way to edit / change an existing password on an email account how do I change a password (PW) on existing email accts ? I do not use encryption nor a master PW.

I have done this years ago, maybe on an earlier T-bird version but cannot determine how to do it now. I can see and used the 'tools accounts security, password thread' .... which allows me to remove ... WHAT the account or apparently just its Password. If that is the case, am I then allowed to add a new Password ? Or What ?

thanks in advance

Delete the old or existing password in Tools/Options/Security/Passwords/Saved Passwords, OK, restart TB, connect to the account, e.g. 'Get Mail', and you will be prompted to enter the new or correct password; check the box if you want the password remembered, i.e. stored in Saved Passwords.
