Why is Thunderbird opening (only) in it's OWN window - putting my open Firefox window and all others elsewhere?
I'm on a Mac 10.8.5. Some of the time (it seems) when I open Thunderbird to work on e-mail, it closes all of the other windows I had open. Then, when I reopen Firefox, my Thunderbird window closes. I'm lost! Thanks. Actually, now I'm realizing that many times I can't seem to have a new blank letter page open (when I'm writing a new letter) at the same time as keeping my "Mail and Newsgroups" open. I must have changed something in some preference, but just cannot find it - or anyone who has had this problem. Again, thanks. Sheesh. Now it's not doing it. Doesn't seem to have consistency. Yup, I have restarted. Maybe I'm just loosing it.

Sorry, I don't a mac, but it sounds like you have a mac setting to use single application mode instead of multi application mode. or maybe you selected when you open an app to Hide Others .

Toad-Hall, Thanks for your efforts on my behalf. I looked through your suggestions, but am not getting the problem solved. It just seems like I can't have Firefox and Thunderbird open windows at the same time. But I could before. I do appreciate your help, though!
