This just happened on my computers over the past week or so. Must have been from an upgrade. Now when a website asks for the captcha code, it doesn't accept it. Trust me I have tried multiple times with more than one website. When I repeat using explorer, my captcha code goes right through. Please tell me how to resolve or I will sadly have to go back to using explorer or chrome.

thanks! I have been a loyal firefox uses for over a decade.

Cheers! Cheryl

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen).

Thanks for the suggestions...This did not help. I retested a page where I wanted access to information and it wanted me to log into my linked in account. I entered the information and it didnt log me in...that is...it didnt pass along the information. Copied the link to chrome and it worked just fine.

Can this have something to do with java? that is disabled due to AVG protection.
