How can I uninstall the latest update of Thunderbird in order to get Clippings back?

Clippings disappeared with the latest Thunderbird update, and now I find that they aren't compatible. I'd rather have the Clippings than the update, so how can I uninstall the update?

There is a version of Clippings for TB 60. Read the last paragraph on the page about upgrading from an older version of Clippings.
