I have noticed that sometimes the firefox browser crashes when a video is playing. This has happened multiple times now. To debug the issue, this time i started the browser using terminal so that when the browser crash i will see the message on the terminal. This time i was watching a youtube video. And while the video was playing the browser first hangs(meaning the screen/video freezes and browser doesn't respond to any clicks or anything) for first 2-3 minutes and then it crashes. This time since i had started the firefox from terminal, after the crash i got the following printed out on the terminal: ``` user@user-Inspiron-xxxx:~$ /usr/lib/firefox/./firefox Exiting due to channel error. Exiting due to channel error. Exiting due to channel error. Exiting due to channel error. Exiting due to channel error. Exiting due to channel error. Exiting due to channel error. CPU time limit exceeded (core dumped) ``` I am using Ubuntu 18.04 and Firefox version 98.0(64 bit). I have downloaded the tar file of this version from Mozilla's official site and then installed it manually on my machine. Can someone help me solve the issue and also tell me the reason for this crash.

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A list of Submitted/Unsubmitted Crash Reports will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Submitted Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

When i type about:crashes in the address bar and press enter, i get a blank page saying: No crash reports have been submitted.. So, there are no 2 sections labeled "Unsubmitted Crash Reports" and "Submitted Crash Reports". The page is blank.

Try downloading another copy of Firefox, run it from the folder and see if you have the same issue. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release

Also make sure you have current ffmpeg and libav for your distro. Here is a screenshot of what I have.
