Refresh and Stop have moved and by default are attached to the right hand edge of the location bar. When in customize mode look to the right hand edge of the location bar, you should be able to drag them from there and place them where you want.

For the new tab button, when in customize mode check the right end of the tab bar, you can move it from there whilst in customize mode.

There are a lot more than these basic buttons missing from mine and I have no idea how it happened or where they went. I opened Firefox many times today and the last time my theme, everything had changed. This has happened before and then it just comes back. I sure wish they would get this browser working correctly. At least half of the options which did appear in my tool bar customization are now missing, like the various bookmarks items, and others. Where did they go?

Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"

  • If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout" (Windows, Linux with the menu bar hidden)
  • If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
  • If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.
