Firefox on android 4.0.3 always continued syncing history, tabs and passwords, but it stopped syncing bookmarks some time ago. Today I created a new profile and a new account with a dozen of bookmarks for testing. They easily sync on ten PCs with Firefox 36.0.1.

On android, I additionally installed Firefox beta and signed in with the new account. It syncs history, tabs and passwords. But it does not sync any bookmark either, not from PC to mobile, not from mobile to PC. So on android, there appears no bookmark folder "Desktop", and on the PC there appears no folder "Mobile bookmarks".

Other browsers on android, like chrome and opera, continue syncing well.

Today, one account resumed syncing.

What I tried before: 'delete data' in device - settings - apps - firefox, disable Droidwall and Exynos-abuse patch, uncheck sync preference for bookmarks on android, reboot, re-enable sync preference for bookmarks. Additionally, some unintentional crashes of the device.

Now, droidwall and the patch are running again, but syncing still is ok. So no culprit factor is evident. Maybe the sync server saw maintenance...

Thanks for asking. A systematic solution would be nice. Syncing with android seemingly gets stuck once a year...

Hi, tommyy If you face such a problem again, I would like you to perform these steps: 1. Remove your firefox account from Settings-accounts-firefox. Tap on menu key and click on "Remove account". If you don't find this option and you can see the email id used for this firefox account, tap on that. All in all, on your screen, you should see firefox sync option. 2. Now, sign into your firefox account from the firefox browser for Android. 3. Force sync this account of yours from Settings-accounts-firefox. 4. Syncing might not be fuctional if there is some network issue. Check that too.

Hope this helps. Vedant

Hi Vedant, in fact, my first effort was to delete the sync account and the local data, then reconnect to sync. After failure, I repeated the deletions and connected to a second account - to no avail. Then I reinstalled Firefox, to no avail. Finally I installed Firebox android beta and tried my luck with a third account. When it failed as well, I started this thread.

Anyway, thank you so much for caring.

Regards, Tom
