Installed Firefox on fire 2015 - icon opens then closes immediately
using apk from FTP I was able to install Firefox on my fire 2015 tablet. I got the icon, and I can open it but then it closes right away - what did I do wrong? How can I get it to install properly? When I look for help online, I keep seeing that I should use Google play - I do not have access to it.

Make sure you downloaded the correct version for your tablet. We produce 3 builds of Firefox for Android one for old Gingerbread devices one for Intel x86 devices and one for modern Android devices.
The build for your device will be in a folder ending in -api-11. For example this is our Aurora build of Firefox for Android. https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/nightly/latest-mozilla-aurora-android-api-11/fennec-44.0a2.multi.android-arm.apk

Hi
I have looked into this and have seen that you may need to make a change to the settings on your Kindle Fire before you open the file;
1. Go to the Settings screen on the Kindle Fire 2. Select the “Device” option. 3. Select “On” for the “Allow Installation of Applications” option.
I hope this helps, but if not, please come back here and we can look into a different solution for you.

This option is not on the Fire 2015 5th gen - I did do that on my older Fire and was able to install there. The answer here from kbrosnan gave a link to the correct Aurora version of FireFox for this Fire unit.kbrosnan said
