Can I limit address autocomplete to use a specific address book for email acct. I'm using 2 email accts within but the autocomplete searches all addr books.
I have 2 email accounts set up on Thunderbird, 1 personal, 1 work. When I tried to send an email it appears that the autocomplete for the address is searching all address books (or at least the one with all the contacts) and I'd like to limit the autocomplete within an email account to a certain address book defined within Thunderbird. On the left pane, it has a search for a specific book but that appears to only be used for searching within that pane, not the TO: field. I believe I had seen where someone had suggested running 2 different copies of thunderbird with different profiles.... but there seems to be a caveat that it is for debugging purposes only and not supported.....I don't want to jeopardize my email not working or stops working in a future release. .. It looks like this has been raised in the past but I've not seen anything that shows within Thunderbird how to configure this type of behavior. So, am I correct in assuming that having a distinct address book per email account is still not available in the Thunderbird code?

Install MoreFunctionsForAddressBook (how to install) to have the option 'Addressbooks for addresses autocomplete' under Tools/Account Settings/accountname/Composition & Addressing.

The solution provided does what I wanted. I'm able to select what address folders to search for each email account I'm using, keeping the home / work environment separate for email address autocomplete. I'm glad the addon is there but I'm perplexed that this functionality is not in the base Thunderbird product. Again, thanks for the tip and hopefully it continues to work and be supported for the changes coming down the road for addons in the future.
