How do I print the pdf file I am viewing in Firefox on my iPad Pro ? I do not see and option for printing under the triple-horizontal bars icon when I click it.

Thank you

Hi Dale8,

To save the PDF, follow these steps:

  1. You can click on the triple-horizontal bars icon, then choose "Share Page With..."
  2. Choose "Create PDF". At this stage, a new sheet by iOS will show.
  3. Click on the share button at the bottom left, and you should be able to see "Save to Files"

There is a Print option as well in case you need to print it.

Cheers

Hi:

Thank you for your reply.

This doesn’t work.

When I click the triple horizontal bars, I do not see an option to select called “Share Page With...”, from the drop-down menu.

Remember, I am using the Firefox app on an iPad and iPhone, not a laptop or Desktop computer.

I am using the latest version of Firefox for iOS: Firefox Version 14.0 (14626).

Hi,

Now that is pretty weird. I have tested it on my phone, the menu is actually there as can be seen in the screenshot.

Hi:

Are you using an iPhone ?

I haven’t tried using Firefox on that, yet.

I have been trying to download to an 9.7” iPad Pro.

I am using the latest version of Firefox for iOS: Firefox Version 14.0 (14626).

My iPhone is using iOS 12.1.2. My iPad Pro is using iOS 12.1.1

Both are the latest versions of iOS for their respective devices.

I found the problem !

In your instructions, you said to click on the three horizontal bars. I have to clock on the single row of 3 dots in order to see the menu option, “Share Page With...”

I figured this out by downloading Firefox onto my iPhone 7, then comparing its screen with the screen on my iPad Pro.

The layouts are different.

I didn’t see “Share Page With..” when I clicked on the 3 horizontal bars icon, so I just clicked the 3 dots icon to see what would happen. That’s where the option appeared.

But, when I downloaded the file to the Documents app, and tried to open it, I received a message stating that the file is corrupted.

Are you downloading you pdf file to any specific app ?

I tried downloading it to the Adobe Acrobat app, and it couldn’t open it. I wonder if it can’t be opened due to being some sort of financial document.

My bad, I should mention triple dot instead.

As for PDF downloading, I just chose save to files. From there I can open the PDF. Maybe you can try “Save to files”, open it, and then try to open with Adobe Acrobat?

I have never tried Adobe Acrobat inside phone.

I tried Acrobat, but it said it couldn’t open the file. My guess is that maybe pdf fimes from financial institutions are encrypted... but then what good would it do to have them as downloads if you can’t open them to view the contents ? Doesn’t make sense

Hi, let’s try another way. When you choose the “Share page with...” option, can you directly open it with Acrobat?

If this way still not working, I know it defeats the purpose of wanting to use FF, but probably you can try with Safari and see if the PDF can be opened propery or not. If not, this looks more like Acrobat issue to me.

Sorry I don’t have encrypted PDF with me so I can’t really test it.

Cheers
