how do I "view source" in firefox 6
Since upgrading to Firefox 6 the option to "view source" is apparently no longer available (I used in in Firefox 5 only yesterday and am missing it already). Can it be made available please?

-> click Firefox button -> go to Web Developer and click View Page Source (shortkey CTRL + U)
Check and tell if its working.
I see no "Firefox button", but control U works. Thanks
You can also go to Tools Menu -> Web Developer -> click View Page Source
Check and tell if its working.

View > Page Source is also available via the right-click context menu on the web page in addition to the Firefox/Tools > Web Developer menu.
- Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the Menu Bar is hidden.
Thanks to both. I had to choose one solution but both are good :-)
Ugh. WHY do browsers/companies insist on ruining their products with "improvements"?? Just keep the darn thing under VIEW like any normal person would look for it and where its always been.
THANK YOU to the person who suggested R click. Even though my fingers automatically go to VIEW -- guess I have to get used to doing Something Different because Mozilla "improved" FF with FF6. Not.

And thank you Mozilla for making me disable automatic upgrades to new versions. I don't expect to come into work and then have to waste my time looking for, googling and then inquiring on something so dumb.

Whose brilliant decision was this??? If I want to 'View Source' then the obvious choice is to have 'Source' as an option on the 'View' menu (as before), not buried somewhere under Web Developer. This was NOT a good change and I hope that there aren't any similar ones that surface as I dig through the changes in FF6.

I am so used to clicking view- view source that now it's no longer there I keep on clicking view- full screen. Is there a way of moving it out of tools - webdeveloper back to it's original locale. thanks

Use CTRL + U shortkey for View Page Source

Maybe if enough people request it, Firefox' makers will add "Source" back into the view menu (where it "belongs") in any case? Meanwhile, Control U will have to do.
I am really loosing respect for firefox.
Guess what people, Firefox 7 is on the way, and the "view source" is back there.
The firefox kids have decided to make a new version number for every freaking little change now, so now your add-ons will break about every month.
I ABSOLUTELY AGREE! There is NO GOOD Reason to take the "Show Page Source" menu away from VIEW, which is where it STILL Should Be!
Going from Tools->Wed Design->Page Source IS A WASTE OF MY TIME to Relearn & To Use! AND most times I avoid using the Keyboard Shortcuts.
So why don't you right-click on the page?
That is the easiest and quickest way to do it.
That way you also see if there are frames.
Thanks @mha007 --
for others - command U for mac works.

@cor_el -- Though R click does not always give the desired result. Unless further frustration is the desired result. Which it isn't.
Now that I've unchecked auto updates, hopefully I remember to get FF7 so I can View>View Source. I wonder what will be missing in the next version.

I agree with others -- why mess with a standard convention web designers/developers are used to using in their day to day work flow?!?!
I also had to google around to find the solution to no longer having "page source" in the "view" menu. I use this constantly on a daily basis. PLEASE pass along yet another request to have FF reinstate "page source" back into the "view" menu in v7! Thanks!
Now I have to learn something new. Why don't you just put things back where they were? That way I don't have to learn how to use your product all over again.
I am retired and my brain is full up already.
Someone at Mozilla is empire building. "Let's change everything, then we can get more people to answer the myriad of new problems that arise"
I just deleted the content 'cos it didn't go where I thought it would. So if your whiz kid developers had provided a delete button then you wouldn't have to ask me to provide content that I had deleted from the text box.

We should be able to configure the contents of the menus as we like it, that is a useful feature (unlike some of the bloat)
