Firefox v10.0.1, memory use keeps rising.
I normally have 6 or 7 tabs open on google.ca with access to my most frequent webpages available by use of back button. When Firefox first started with my tabs auto loaded memory use is just under 200MB. After a day or two memory use gets above 600MB. This is better than previous versions where memory use got as high as 1.2TB. Here are urls of pages available via back button. http://ec.synnex.ca/ecexpress/newWelcome.do https://www.dandh.ca/v4/view?pageReq=dhmainE https://ca-new.ingrammicro.com/Pages/default.aspx With 3 or 4 other tabs that just sit on either http://www.google.com/webhp?hl=en or http://www.google.ca/
My random web browsing uses those open 3 or 4 tabs. After using I go back to the google page first opened.
I normally restart when Firefox memory use gets above 500MB. Everything on the computer but especially Firefox gets slow then. After restart of Firefox memory use is back down below 200MB with the same tabs open when memory use was above 500MB.

Hi russmartin,
Have you looked at the Knowledge Base article Firefox uses too much memory or CPU resources - How to fix or Firefox uses too much memory or CPU resources - How to fix? There is a lot of great information in there.
Hopefully this helps!
Thanks Matt. I will check those links out. I might be on the hunt for a defective plugin. Currently running safe mode - all plugins disabled - RAM use at startup below 120MB. I will see if memory use rises over the next couple days.
From my list of plugins from original post - are there any know culprits? I am not concerned with the memory use at startup even with all plugins enabled. My concern is memory use doubling and tripling over time with use.

Firefox OK with Download Helper extension and these Plugins: Google Update, Shockwave Flash and VLC Multimedia plugin. I have 11 extensions and 15 plugins to evaluate. This may take a month or 2 but if I find the culprit I will post it.
