You need to remove the software that you have installed, the names may not be too obvious, then you need to reset the preferences that have been set by babylon related software, there is an add-on that helps to do that.
Babylon themselves do offer some advice on removing the software, and Firefox staff are currently working on updating our advice documentation on these problems.
Have a look at
- Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page
- I would NOT personally advise you try the Firefox Reset at this stage. It removes extensions and other settings. It will not remove globally installed software as is likely to be associated with babylon
- https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/
it is a restartless add-on it installs easily and cleans up your settings.
What software have you found and removed so far ?
and do you know where you got babylon from ?
(It is likely to have been bundled with something else, not many users seem to deliberately install it)
Note to self
I do not think the searchreset add-on removes or modifies the user.js file That may also need deleting or modifying. http://kb.mozillazine.org/User.js_file
