When I go to the TV Guide website, and try to change the location to get what is on in my area, it will NOT change in Firefox, but works as it should in IE. http://www.tvguide.com/listings/ change location/provider when I click on change location/provider it brings up another small window that has a title of "Set Your Provider" I enter my zip code, and Select the type of service, and that brings up a list for my area. When I click on the one I want from the list the window closes without changing a darn thing. When I do this in IE it works as it should.. You might want to check into this little problem.. I hate using IE even to see what's on the tube..

Hello,

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

I had tried that before, but I did it again just in case. Nothing has changed, even with the cleared cache and cookies. I have used Firefox for many years now, and I don't remember what version of Firefox stopped working on the TV Guide site, but figured it would get fixed sooner or later. Not only that, but we have a new computer as of early this year, and of course the first thing was to install Firefox. So I know the problem with the TV Guide site was when we had the old computer too, so it's been this way for a long time now. I did complain to TV Guide about working with IE but not Firefox, and I'm sure you know how they really care.. LOL I just thought I would let someone know there seems to be a problem there on that site not being Firefox friendly.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

Restarted Firefox in Safe mode, and still will not change my location on the TV Guide site. I remember going over a lot of things when I first found out I could no longer change my location, but never found anything that worked. If I couldn't get it to change with IE, then I would figure the site has a problem, but since it does work then I have to think it's something to do with the way the site is coded that only works with IE.
