Can you get specific and give the address of the page that won't load? Also, do you get a message that the page is not found or do you get an error like there is a problem with the security certificate? More details would be helpful. Thanks.

Hi it is a children's website that allows us to go on but my child cannot connect to other parts of the website to play certain games. It just keeps saying connecting and never connects. I have been able to go to the website through other browsers but we like firefox and cannot figure out why this one site does not work.

Could you check for any notification icons in the address bar? These would appear to the left of the address and may indicate a security issue, plugin problem, etc.

Also, could you open the Web Console, display the Network tool, and reload the page and see whether the elements that are not loading are on a different server? Here's how:

To open the Web Console, press Ctrl+Shift+k.

To display the Network tool, click the word Network on the black bar that separates the web page from the console.

Then reload the page (Ctrl+r or hit the "x" in the address bar and then the reload circle button). As Firefox sends requests bars should appear along with the amount of time each one takes to be completely received. This may help in identifying a potentially blocked site that is needed to show the entire page. Or something else... it's all new territory for both of us since I don't have the address and can't pre-test it.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
