There is a site that occasionally updates one of it's pages when it has a special offer. Is there anyway that FireFox can advise that the particular page has changed - the page will be 'running' in the background.

Hi DYLAN1996, This will depend on the webpage. Sometimes there is a script on the page that does this, and occasionally the page will be cached unless updates are detected on the server after each page load.

There are also some add ons that do this:

Hi DYLAN1996, This will depend on the webpage. Sometimes there is a script on the page that does this, and occasionally the page will be cached unless updates are detected on the server after each page load.

You may be able to find a service, program, or add-on to monitor sites in the background so you do not need to check them manually. Here's a targeted search of the Add-ons site (I haven't tried any of them myself):
