I despise the new Charter on line email client. They no longer offer POP email. I have set up an IMAP email within Thunderbird. It functions properly (both IMAP and STMP).

I want to never see the Charter online email client again. I want to be able to delete an email within Thunderbird and then have that email then deleted off the IMAP server without me having to do it manually. Is this possible? What setting do I need to use to achieve this?

This is how IMAP works.

I can only guess you're referring to Charter webmail. You'll need to keep an eye on the storage space you use on the server, as with IMAP all mail is managed on the server.

I understand your response christ1. Yes, I am referring to Charter webmail. I really hate the new interface (actually wasn't fond of the old interface).

Does that mean there is no way to set Thunderbird up to do it.

Actually there isn't really anything to configure other than setting up your account as an IMAP account, which you already did.

You may not be able so see your quota on the server via Thunderbird, so it would probably be a good idea to check via webmail every once in a while.
