My laptop died. I have a new one now. I had to download firefox. There are no bookmarks. Have I lost my bookmarks forever?

While my husband was in the hospital, my laptop died. A friend was able to retrieve the information on it. However, the new laptop that I have did not have firefox. I had to download it and run it. My bookmarks from my old laptop are not in this version. Does that mean I will not have the bookmarks?

Was your friend able to recover the correct information?
What types of data or files names did that friend save for you?
