Hi,

I wanted to get rid of older webpages which I had visited so when I googled for a solution it stated that I should do about:cache and clear the cache. After doing about:cache, cleared Disk cache device. After that webpages don't load as previously. For eg: If I visit Arsenal.com, I can see pictures in smaller slide, but they do not give me any photograph on slide show.

I don't see any delete or clear button in about:cache. Did you use this button:

orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"

If not, perhaps best to go ahead and do that.

Can you provide a more specific link to the non-working slide show?

I deleted the cache manually on my disk by getting into the folder. After that I am having all the issues. Eg: If I do about:cache I am given the path saying where the cache location is, so I go there and manually deleted the files. C:\Users\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\lz3xwx2w.default\Cache, this was the path given to me, where all the data was deleted.

Attached is the screenshot for one of the websites where the images are distorted. Also popups do not work, cannot login to hotmail account it shows similar to the image attached. If there is a redirect link, clicking on it would not lead me anywhere.

Did you delete the full Cache folder with all files and folders in it with Firefox closed?

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)

Thank you, your workaround was spot on. It worked.

There is one other problem, sites with https still have an issue.

What kind of issue do you have with secure sites?

Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.

I will explain the situation, as I cannot give you the details via screenshot. If I enter a banking website and click on login another screen would popup where I need to enter UID and hit continue, but if I hit continue the screen stays there. It would not proceed.
