With this new version of Firefox (32?), ALL of my passwords have been deleted, and any "AUTOFILL" option that was SUPPOSED to exist does NOT, in fact exist. My reaction to this abortion follows: 1) How dare you write a new version of your software that ERASES MY passwords on MY COMPUTER. That SHALL NOT happen again. 2) If I do NOT receive a FIX for this BUG by Monday morning, Sept. 15, 2014 I WILL (not shall) migrate all my browsing to another Browser and purge Firefox from my system, forevermore. For instance, SAFARI has fixed this problem on their browser. 3) You arrogance (or stupidity? or both?) is both monumental and bewildering.

hello, did you at any point in the past update from a release version of firefox to a firefox beta/aurora/nightly version and downgrade again using the same profile? you can also remove your addons for ignoring "autocomplete=off", this is now the default in firefox anyway...

Hi,

The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.

If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected at http://input.mozilla.org/, where a team of people read it and gather data about the most common issues.

These can't get your data back, but will help in the future.

These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox

FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backup of files that you choose.

That is a problem with the Remember Passwords extension that is no longer needed in current Firefox releases anyway.

Firefox won't auto-fill saved form data automatically when autocomplete=off is used and you need to start typing the name to get a drop-down list.

I have found a work around, but it needs a bit of work on the users part. After the page is loaded, right click one of the fields (name / password ), and select Inspect Element. When the work window opens, look for autocomplete=off. Mark the ff, then type o. Then close the work window.

Hey, Moderators, do you know someone who can make this into an add-on?

Somewhat sheepishly, I admit that when I performed a "Reset Firefox", Firefox came back in about 10 minutes with all my prior passwords intact; and when I browsed a website that needed a password, Firefox asked me if I wanted to save that new password - just as I hoped! So the problem appears to be solved for the now. Time will tell if this will happen again, and if so whether a simple Reset solves the problem. Thank you philipp - you started me thinking about starting fresh; the Reset was the first step in that process. Happily, I haven't needed to go any further.

Also make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Never remember history).

geoffwalter, It's good to hear that you solved the problem. I suggest that you install these add-ons that I told you about.

These will save everything outside of Firefox So if there is a problem, you will still have everything safe.
