an msf file is an internal Thunderbird index. it will not open in Outlook or any program. You can not even get it to import into Thunderbird as it contains no mail.

Thunderbird mail is generally stored in MBOX files that are located in the same folder as the associated MSF file. I say generally, as in the case of IMAP accounts where Thunderbird is not instructed to store messages locally there is no MBOX file, only the MSF file that stores the information needed to populate the user interface with lists.

For importing a MBOX files to Outlook, I suggest you google "import MBOX file to outlook" or "convert mbox file to PST" and pay for one of the solutions offered.

Hi Matt Thanks for the reply. I know that MSF file does not contain any data. It is only the index file. But I need to see my lost MBOX files. Many of my mail are not showing in my Thunderbird account. If can't open all those mail in Outlook account, is there any other option to view all those files.

Forget outlook (and we can't answer questions about it anyway).

Focus on the issue "Many of my mail are not showing in my Thunderbird account."

Right click folder, pick properties, then "repair"

Hi I tried the method to repair but it didn't worked. I don't think I would be getting my mails back. Anyway Thanks
