Can not open Thunderbird or Firefox

When i try to open Thunderbird or Firefox i get message box pop up saying all reedy running.

running on windows 10

Tried task manager not running there have uninstalled and reinstalled still get the same message.

Has any one got any ideas especially as I have files in Thunderbird I do not want to lose

Try deleting the parent.lock file from the profile folder, located by default in:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default

AppData is hidden by default in File Explorer.

Thanks for this it has now got rid of already running message but now tells me that there is no Profile and still wont open. Any more suggestions?

Close TB, open a Run window (Windows key+R), type thunderbird.exe -p to open Profile Manager. Are there any profiles listed, and can you choose one and launch TB?

All good now thanks deleted the hole profile instead of just the parent.lock file Thankyou very much for your help
