sync to PCs
I am trying to sync a new PC for the first time. I have an account. I got the pair code from the host, entered it into the new pc and after a couple of attempts I got a message that I will have to resend the register code or something like that by going to manage account (or something like that, Im now rattled by attempting this for an hour or so). When I go to the sync options on the host PC there is no option to manage account. just set up sync or pair a device. going to either of these options I still cant find anywhere to restore registration

What type of device did you use originally to set up your Sync Account?
If it was a PC, can you get the Account name, the Password, and the Sync Key from that PC?
Or do you have a "mobile device" that you can use for Pairing?
Yes, it is a PC running Win7/32bit. I get the sync key from the old PC ok, but when I enter it into the new PC (win8/64bit) it does not work. says to enter Recovery key but could not find this option on old (host) PC under sync options. When I look at options, sync I only see two options. 1. set up Firefox sync. 2. pair a device. On the bottom of the box just "OK", "Cancel" and "Help". Where can I see my recovery key?

Sync Key and Recovery Key are two different names for the same thing - the encryption / decryption algorithm.
When you say the the Sync/Recovery Key doesn't work, are you able to type in all 26 characters?
The problem is I can't see the recovery key on the host PC. There does not seem to be any option to get it.
Options > Sync --> Manage Account -- My Recovery Key
Your Recovery Key shows in that dialog window.
There's also a Print and a Save button there.
Do not use the Generate a new key link, that will wipe your data from the server.
