I am using the latest version of Firefox. Starting two days ago, PDFs on our website stopped printing correctly for us - all the text comes up like gibberish. The fonts used are all standard - like arial for example. This problem only happens when we print from the Firefox PDF previewer - the PDFs print normally in IE, and in Adobe Reader.

The files themselves display perfectly normally in the Preview, it's only when I print that they come up looking like gibberish. This started happening this past Tuesday with Firefox on all the computers here, using different operating systems.

While I realize I can change the settings for PDFs to open in Reader rather than using the Firefox Preview, it doesn't change the fact that the public has the same issue whenever they now try to print our PDF files using Firefox with the default settings. Some of these PDFs are months old and we've been printing them from the Firefox Preview all along without any issue. It's also ALL our PDFs that are affected, regardless of the fonts used, the creation date, etc. All of them printed properly before Tuesday. I'm totally baffled. Any ideas?

hello, last tuesday firefox 27 was released - can you provide a sample to one of the pdf-files affected?

I was hoping it was a bug in the latest release and I wasn't losing my mind. Hadn't had time to check out the release schedule.  :)

Here is a link to one of the files:

http://www.gpbr.com/expo/2014Registration_Form.pdf

And I am attaching a photo of some of the documents I printed showing the error.

Thanks!

i cannot replicate the issue here (but i have no physical printer but only a pdf printer)...

the pdf viewer is still somewhat experimental but under very active development. one thing you can try is if the same error is occurring in the current development version of the pdf viewer, which you can download as an addon from http://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/extensions/firefox/pdf.js.xpi

in case it has the the same printing problems, you could then file a bug report directly to the pdf.js dev team at https://github.com/mozilla/pdf.js/issues (a github account is necessary for it though) - please also provide the sample document where the error is apparent again. thank you!

Hi,

I have the same problem on one of the pdf we propose on our site.

This PDF was created with PDF Creator, if i print a PDF that is not created with PDF creator it print perfectly.

The version of pdf creator used for creating my PDF is 1.1.0. The version of pdf creator for the gpbr PDF is 0.9.3.

I have the problem with Firefox 27.0.1

EDIT : One more thing, i have looked the properties of different of my PDFs and the ones created with PDF Creator 1.3.2 are ok when i print them.

EDIT 2 : When i open the file on my HDD i have a message saying that It's possible that this pdf document is not displayed correctly. But when i open the same pdf from my server i don't have that message.
