Since converting to Thunderbird we have two problems that are not working the way we had. We correspond with customers with one email address and use two computers to do this. Problem one .........we can see received emails on both computers if it is opened on one computer the highlighted subject is not bold on that computer "but" still highlighted on the other computer..."HENCE" i do not know he looked or read it. Problem Two........This is more serious......Sent messages go out fine but can only be seen as sent on the sending computer. (in sent folder) HELP

If you are using POP instead of IMAP this is normal. Pop only connects to the Inbox. Use IMAP if using multiple devices and want them in sync.

I was told by someone that sbcglobal does not use "support" IMAP .......If that is the case (still checking ) then I will not be able to use Thunderbird. I would not be in a good position to change my email address Would love it if I could make it work....thanks

Just to be clear, IMAP and POP are email standards. Any email client you use will react the same.

Utter rubbish. given are complaining that the IMAP features you are used to are no longer working, (synchronizing of folder contents and mail statuses), my guess is you have been using it for a long time on your previous software.

Or any mail client as they all use either POP or IMAP, and that choice is made by the server, not the client.

Then I suggest you use ATT IMAP. These settings are documented here. http://settings.email/sbcglobal.net-email-settings.html they are probably also on the ATT web site somewhere, but I just can not be bothered to look.
