A bit of an odd request, I know, but I'm trying to send encrypted email from Thunderbird such that only the recipient, and not the sender (me) can access the message once it has been sent. I direct Thunderbird not to save a copy in the "Sent" folder when I do this, but Thunderbird still encrypts the message such that my personal key can decrypt it. Is it possible to send a message that can only be decrypted with one key? I have access to the recipient's private key, if that helps.

I have no idea, but my understanding of all signing processes is that the one encrypting the data will always have access to the reversal of the encryption. You could ask in the dedicated encryption mailing list instead of general support. https://thunderbird.topicbox.com/groups/e2ee You might find someone interested there.
