can audio/video files not cached be downloaded somehow?
I know it's been extremely difficult to find cached audio/video files since Firefox changed how cache works, but I used to be able to find them with IE. Since I had to upgrade IE, and Adobe Flash player, I'm not finding audio files from a site that used to be stored on the PC. I've tried IEcacheview, and various addons for Firefox, but nothing works. Any notions on how to get the files cached? I dont want to record them.

Hi spiritgumm,
Thank you for contacting support, we love answering Firefox questions. In order to find where the files are cached:
- Stackoverflow.com similar question http://superuser.com/questions/498538/how-to-find-video-in-firefox-cache
- CacheViewer on BitBucket https://bitbucket.org/jsumners/cachev.../downloads

I dont think I explained the problem correctly. I can hear the audio files playing from certain websites, but the files dont seem to be cached. Which is why none of the addon downloaders, and cacheviewers, are showing any results. If I right-click on the website where the player and cues are shown, the dropdown menu I get is for Adobe player settings, instead of the usual menu
Hi spiritgumm, Can you please provide a url example where it was working before, I would love to test this to see if a bug needs to be filed :-)
Here's a link to the website which previously cached files, but apparently changed their streaming method to prevent it. If you open the link, you will get a search window on the site (the main page), but wait a few seconds and it should automatically go to another screen with two Science Fiction cds listed. You can expand them to click on a track and play it. http://www.apmmusic.com/myapm/main.php?&i=62522&k=8fb49549f3fd57ad0
Hi, I tried to email the developer for the site you provided to see if they have users reporting this.
Are the files in this folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[Profile Name]\Cache
And have you tried this add on CacheViewer?
Wot guigs
Most media player stream media files and in this case you won't find them in the disk or memory cache and you would need an extension to download and save such a streamed media file.
rmcguigan, as I already said, websites are doing this intentionally to prevent files from being stored our PCs - why would you email them about it??? I tried several cacheviewer-type apps before posting here; and you already mentioned Cacheviewer. If you tried it with that website, you'd know it doesnt work.
cor-el, streaming media files have been stored in temp internet folder before. There's something different going on where the files arent being allowed to be stored now - I'm thinking it's the new Adobe flashware.
There are extensions that stream media files, however please be mindful of the property rights of the material mentioned http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/about/legal.html
