Several different companies provide update information to Mozilla for the plugins site, but those companies do not, so you just get a Research button.
My recommendation would be to disable the two Adobe "detect" plugins.
To update your Shockwave for Director plugin, if you visit sites that use this rare format, you can use this page (make sure to uncheck any unwanted extras): https://get.adobe.com/shockwave/
Microsoft's plugin should be kept up-to-date by Office updates.
You can bookmark this for Google Earth to see whether it lets you know when an update is available: http://www.google.com/intl/en/earth/explore/products/plugin.html -- I don't know what Google Update does but maybe it checks for Google Earth updates?
I'm not familiar with the CANON and NVIDIA plugins.
