Why did I suddenly get Firefox Monitor notifications tonight?

Yesterday I began to register my new credit card. I wrote in my credit card number and my social security number into the American Express website to register my new credit card. I decided to leave the site open to finish working on it today. Tonight I got a notification that just said monitor that showed up repeatedly and gave me no details. I don't know what it found or if it found anything or why I got it. It freaked me out and I am furious with your organization over this. I have no idea whether or not it found that my information was stolen on the Amex site. I investigated and checked for my email address which was not requested by the Amex site and found that I was compromised twice on other websites I don't regularly use, according to the monitor and haveibeenpwned.com. Ticketfly and Adobe. I signed up for monitor and I called Amex to register the card instead. Can you please help me out here? I don't know what happened or what was occurring and I am terrified my information was stolen because I was sloppy.

The information I am terrified about of course is the more recently described information at the top. I'm terribly impatient on this issue

Seriously, it comes off as buggy and irresponsible when you have your web browser app showing a notification saying "monitor," that if you click on, does not lead to a site or explanation. Especially after you look up what Firefox Monitor means. That's the other part of the problem. If this was a bug or a new feature, or a new buggy feature that just started to occur or trigger mistakenly, while I coincidentally had sensitive information open in another page, I want to know about that too. This terrified and severely frustrated me and took a lot of time out of my evening. I had to create new passwords and logins for this support forum and the monitor program. I had to act to activate my credit card in a different way, and I still have to change another account password.

Hi

We are sorry about what has happened. We mistakenly caused test messaging about Firefox Monitor to go live earlier today. Feel free to clear the notification.
