I just updated to 70.0 earlier today and I have had 3 seperate instances where I have clicked on a link to open in a new tab and the new tab crashed resulting in a tab crash error. There new tab just says "tab crash error" and gives me the option to open a new tab or reload the existing tab. Never had this problem in ANY version of Firefox.

How do I fix this problem?

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. Please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A list of Submitted/Unsubmitted Crash Reports will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Submitted Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

I went to about:crashes and I see the various other crashes that exist over time, but oddly, I don't see the ones from today. There should be at least 5, but there aren't any.

I've noticed this only happens when I click on a link in Twitter. For whatever reason, it crashes the tab. I've tried reproducing it in/on other websites to no avail. I think it has to do with the short URLs that Twitter uses.

1. Open Firefox Preferences by clicking on Hamburger-style (3 lines) main menu button -> Options. Alternatively, you can open Firefox Options page by typing about:preferences in the address bar and press Enter.

2. In options window, go to "Privacy & Security" tab, scroll down and look for "Prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser" option.

This option is disabled by default i.e. unchecked.

3. Enable the "Prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser" option and close Options page.

That's it. Now Firefox will no longer crash in your device.
