Previously I was running a version of Firefox 13 and upgraded today to 16.0.1 and since then all my RSS feeds display all links as read (orange icon instead of grey icon) which isn't a desired state for them to be in. Even if new things show up in the feed, they still appear orange and no change happens if I open the links.

Are you using the default theme?

If you have a custom theme then that theme nay not support the RSS feed status properly.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

I'm not running any themes beyond the default one, and running safe mode didn't change the behavior of the feeds.

hello, i think the orange feed icon should indicate that an entry is unread & turn grey when it is accessed & showing up in the browser history.

Feed items that you have read are considered as history, so you need to have history enabled and working and not be in Private Browsing mode to see a read change.
