I had trouble keeping the "select/archive/etc" tool bar from scrolling through an email. The "solution" by clicking "restart with add-ons disabled" and it worked....only for one email. How to I keep the "select/ etc" tool bar set all the time? I don't know when it started. On another computer, I accessed Gmail and there was no problem with the "toolbar" line.

FF just updated to 10.0, but problem still exists. The "solution" works for the 1st email, but then reverts to the "scrolling" mode.

Hi,

I think it is a new feature of the new Gmail inbox. When inside any message, the top bar automatically scrolls down with the message, so that you may not have to scroll back all the way up to take a relevant action on the message.

VW,

Thanks for the reply. I agree it seems new, but it only works for one email then reverts back to scrolling with the email and I have to scroll back when finishing the email. I went to IE and opened my Gmail and there was no problem. So I am thinking it is a Firefox problem. Any ideas?

Hi John,

I'm not sure why it isn't happening in IE. Perhaps IE doesn't support that feature yet, or an add-on could be blocking that functionality. I looked in Gmail help and there is only a single line mention like "and it stays with you so that you can reach these options at any time." here. I think this may be a permanent feature. Not sure, but changing the theme may help.
