Problem follows from Internet Security program deleting malware messages.

The "From" part of the next message received was for a completely different sender and therefore not related to the email.

All other messages listed under Inbox are empty, so some form of corruption has occurred.

Problem not critical as I could either just delete all inbox entries or uninstall/reinstall Thunderbird.

But is there any kind of fix I could try first.

The problem is with your profile, so re-installing won't do anything.

In general it isn't a good idea to let your anti-virus s/w scan your Thunderbird profile folder, and incoming and outgoing messages.

Wrt your problem, try to rebuild the index file for Inbox. Right-click Inbox - Properties - Repair Folder
