I have a mail merge that has a number field meant to be a dollar amount. All the other (text) fields work fine, but after merging, the space the number should be is blank. I've tried redoing it several times, including adding a space between the dollar sign and left bracket. No matter what, the number just won't import to the email. Example of the text where the field is: " ...amount of $ {{Total Pledged}}. "

somehow this got resolved. Unfortunately I changed 2 things instead of 1 at a time, so not sure which was the thing that resolved it. I went back to my spreadsheet and changed the format of number field from dollars to number, and I changed the field name so it would not have any spaces (total_pledged instead of total pledged). In any case, it's working now.

I would guess that the change to a field name without a space will be the change that got things working. With CSV files it is always a good idea to actually convert numbers into text values in the spreadsheet. There is nothing wrong with numbers, but if they are preformated and converted to text there are less odd issues later when you merge. Such as currency symbols not appearing or in particular dates becoming julian or just a large number.

Thanks - that makes sense. Of course these things only happen under deadline...
