Master Passwords and Auto Complete Password Feature (Lockwise)
Hi All,
This would be my fist post - so I do apologise if I have done something wrong.
While this isnt necessarily a "problem" per se, It is a feature I would like to suggest in future updates of Firefox.
I currently use the password store and sync feature of Firefox to remember my passwords, and I HAVE set a master password on my account, which prompts me to input it once when the browser is opened up a fresh.
My problem is, I have a personal computer at home that I use myself, but I often leave my browser open (as it will only really be me using it.) so once I have put in my master password - anyone else who might use the browser could technically just go to a website, and use the auto fill feature.
I ideally would like something that before firefox autofills the log in details that you stored, it should ask for the master password each time, just to confirm it is you - or at least make it a feature that you can toggle on and off so you can choose between this method and the traditional method like it is now.
I would like this because I dont necessarily want to lose the content in my browser every time I get up from my desk because Firefox will just allow anyone to use the autofill once the password is inserted.
Unless this feature is already there - but I can seem to find it?
Thanks again!
Edeziri

Hello Sur_vey17, There may be a feature in future versions to be able to sign out of Lockwise. There certainly has been other inquiries. In the meantime, there is a way...
Click on the "eye" next to your password to view it. When the dialog window opens, asking for your Master Password again, simply select Cancel.
I hope this helps.

You can click on the Copy button and Cancel the Master Password, also. Either way, when you close the Lockwise tab, you will be signed out.

Hi RobertJ,
Thanks for this advise. Indeed helpful.
I personally - am looking for it to prompt you every time for that master password. In a sense, putting in a master password, to get firefox to insert the stored password fore you (but for every unique site you want to log into.)
That or at the VERY least, a "timeout option" where you have to put your master password in every 2 hours or so to limit time where firefox will input your details for you.
Regards,
I wasn't able to find a "timeout option." Maybe someone else is aware of one.
You can always submit a Feature Request - Menu -> Help -> Submit Feedback
Of course, if it is an issue of immediate concern, there are a number of Password Manager extensions available.
Once you have logged to the Firefox then it should be possible to sign out by canceling the MP prompt. When you are on a web page with a saved password then Firefox will prompt you for the MP and you can enter it if you want to login to this website. If you do not want to login then you can cancel MP prompts if you get any. You only need to remember to cancel a MP prompt to log out again. If necessary you can find a login or logout button (depending on the current state) in the Security Device Manager (you need to select the Software Security Device in the left panel).
