inserting active hyperlinks in Hotmail

I'm using Hotmail through Firefox 3.6.10 on a Mac OSX 10.6.4. When I copy hyperlinks and paste into Hotmail, they're not active and <enter> doesn't make them active either (as on a PC). I have to use the <Insert Hyperlink> feature on Hotmail. Any idea on the shortcut to make a hyperlink active? Thanks.

There is usually a toolbar button in the editor to turn a text link into a clickable hyperlink (look for a chain like button).
You can select the text and click that button to turn the link into a clickable hyperlink.

If you can't find the button then hover them all to check the tooltip of each (Insert Hyperlink).
