Same website on 2 different Tabs

more options

We have a site we go to for technical information and parts ordering. One User Name takes us to one company and another User Name takes us to a second company. We enter the User Name and Password and check the Remember Password box. When opening the first site the data is remembered but when we go to the next Tab, the boxes are blank. We enter the other name and PW, check the Remember box. When we go back to the first Tab, the name and PW from the second company is there. FF 4 remembered each one separately on each of their respective Tabs.

I hope I've explained this clearly and am wondering if this is a problem with 5.0? We used 4.0 on an older PC that we just replaced and I upgraded us to FF 5.0, so I hate to blame it on the new PC which runs XP Pro as the old one did.

You can look this extension if you want to sign on with different identities at the same time:

MultiFox appears to only work by opening multiple copies of FF, not opening the same website in multiple Tabs on a single instance of FF. Am I wrong?

Yes, you need a separate window for each separate login to the same server. It doesn't work in separate tabs.

It worked in the previous version of FF. (I thinnk.)

More information follows: The offending computer is brand new with XP and all updates and Service Packs and today is running FF 5.0.1. I duplicated the setup on another PC and do not have the problem. The only thing the second PC does is apparently automatically log us out of a few sites with an extended period of non-use such as overnight. This is acceptable although it did not happen running FF 4.x. Neither instance of FF is using any Add-ons or Extensions other than those needed for Java, etc. Any other ideas here?

Thanks,

John

PS: The 2 Tabs that look like the same website are different once we log in. For example, http://2008745.nexpart.com and http://3600096.nexpart.com.
