Web site block front speakers unless EAX effect is set
I received a virus in Mozilla Firefox. It was Funmood. I had to get a specialist service to remove it. They charged me £70!
Since then I have been unable to use my front speakers unless the EAX function was activated. I cannot tolerate any of these settings because they sound unnatural (especially speech). The rear speakers work normally but of course they reflect the EAX setting when it is on.
Before this virus the speakers worked normally in Windows 7 without the EAX setting. The speaker setting was 4.4.1 or quadrophonic. I have both front and rear sockets on the Sound Blaster card.
No other application is affected.

When I opened my computer today to my delight the speakers were working correctly. It has automatically enabled CMSS-3D and Crystalizer. When these are so set all front and rear speakers are active without activating EAX Effects.

Hi,
Though this could be totally unrelated and coincidental, you could still try to reinstall the audio drivers. The Windows OS forum would be helpful.
It would also be helpful to post in a dedicated security forum because they would be more knowledgeable about the effects as well as the correct cleanup procedures for a specific Windows malware. They would also be able to know if funmood has been reported as affecting Windows driver functionality.
Go back to the so called specialists and demand that they put it right!!!!!
