Once I close Firefox, I can't re-open it, I have to sign out and sign back in to get Firefox to load again.
OK - Firefox opens up fine, the first time I use it. But if I close in and try to re-open it, it won't. I have to sign out and sign back in to get Firefox to open up again. I downloaded updates two days ago and am using Windows 10. I'd prefer not to uninstall and reinstall Firefox. I was wondering if there was something in the settings or options that would stop this from happening. Thanks.

Hi,
Well, after the last automatic update, the aforementioned problem has vanished, like smoke in the wind. I hope the next update doesn't bring it back. :~)Leggere questa risposta nel contesto 👍 0

You can check in the Windows Task Manager if there are still Firefox processes active if you can't (re)start Firefox.
Use one of these to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the Firefox title bar.
- "3-bar" menu button -> Exit (Power button)
- Windows: File -> Exit
- Mac: Firefox -> Quit Firefox
- Linux: File -> Quit
I have a similar problem, i.e.: I still run XP-Pro-SP3, and Firefox used to run just fine, but now it runs fine on an initial load. But... if I shut it down and try to re-open it, it only loads about 35-39K of Ram and then nothing. If I try to "open" it again, it loads another, additional, 35K+/- Ram and doesn't complete loading... and so on. If I reboot my system, then it will load and run. Therefore, every time I re-boot I have to leave Firefox (52.5.0 ESR) open as if I close it, I can't re-open it without rebooting my system. Any ideas anyone? It's annoying and I don't have any idea why or what will "fix" this problem..
P.S. -- It's still doing this on V52.5.0 and prior versions.
