Need to add app to "open with" list
When downloading a photo, the app I want to use to open it is not in the drop-down list, and I don't see how to use "Browse" to add it or use it. This is a new version of the "default" app in my downloads for photos, so I want to change the default when I add the new version. How can I do this, please?
(Latest Firefox, Windows 10. Want to use Lightroom Classic CC as default.)

Hi, I would take it that this is in the Windows 10 Right Click Open With.

Perhaps I don't understand, but desktop context menu isn't what I am trying to change.
Try this: Download a photo; photo opens with whatever app/program is set to default for any photo file type. Go to Settings, Defaults (Etc.) and try to select a different app/program. There's a drop-down list. Desired program is not in the list. HOW TO ADD a program that's on computer to the list to be able to make it the default so that downloads will use it?
Or, when downloading something, drop-down asks whether to open with (the default program for that file type) or save the file. HOW TO CHANGE the default program that comes up if the program one wants is not on the list of available programs. Or HOW TO select a different program to open the single download.
The "find more" option just brings up Play Store. Doesn't allow one to look on computer. The Browse option will open Win Explorer but I cannot figure out how to use it to add anything to the list or even to open the file I am trying at the moment to open.
You can possibly set that application as the default application in the Windows settings. Then Firefox should offer it as the default. You may have to check that in Options/Preferences and possibly in handlers.json in the profile folder to clear a previously setting.
- Options/Preferences -> General -> Applications
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-firefox-behavior-when-open-file
Please Copy/Paste about:preferences to the Address Bar then Enter Go down the list till find Applications. Find the file type you want a different program to use and click it. See what options it gives you to the right.
At the top of Applications is a Search Bar type programs that you would like into it and see what options are offered. Or you may find this to be useful : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/external-application/

I haven't been able to fix this through Windows--intend to actually call Microsoft for help. The problem may also involve two different versions of Lightroom, so I am asking Adobe for assistance, since one should be able to choose between the two versions depending on the purpose. The Applications in Firefox Options does not contain the program I am looking to make the default.
Thank you all for trying to help. This may not be mostly a Mozilla issue.
