Compuserve email account and Thunderbird
I've been using Thunderbird (now 68.12.0) for many years as the email client for Compuserve Email. I recently got an email from Compuserve/AOL which said it was necessary to remove the account and add it back in to have proper security with changes they were making. They said Thunderbird would automatically activate the proper secure sign-in method.
I went to do that this morning and wound up with a configuration which pointed at Yahoo servers and generally did not work.
I manually configured it back to POP.CSI.COM POP3-995-SSL and SMTP-CSI-COM SMTP-465-SSL
It works but I have no idea if this includes the proper secure sign-in method.
Some help would be much appreciated.

I think you want to use your compuserve address on the AOL servers pop.aol.com and smtp.aol.com, but use OAuth2 authentication for the incoming and outgoing, instead of normal password. Change the server names and authentication, delete the passwords in Options/Security/Passwords/Saved Passwords, check that cookies are enabled in TB Options/Privacy, then restart TB and enter the regular account password in the OAuth browser window when prompted.
