Often I would like to restrict search results to UK sources only

http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&prmd=ivns&source=lnt&tbs=ctr:countryUK|countryGB&cr=countryUK|countryGB&q= for Google or

http://www.bing.com/search?go=&qs=n&sk=&sc=8-4&form=QBLH&filt=rf&q= for Bing

This will search only UK pages but only from the address search.

Beyond that you'll have to find a search addon that you can add to the search bar just for that.
