My apologies if this has been answered already, but when I do a search almost all the solutions are to check your system time or run anti-malware software. I'm almost certain it has nothing to do with system time, and moderately certain it's not due to malware.

When I'm on the corporate network, I constantly have to go through the "This connection is untrusted" page and go through the steps starting with "I understand the risks". When I look at the certificate, it looks it is issued by our corporate IT department. For me, this is fine, because the pages I go to aren't sensitive for me.

For example, when i go to http://google.com, for some reason it redirects to https. While I think it's nice that google is looking out for me and encrypting my traffic, it gets annoying to make so many mouse clicks in firefox to do a simple google search to do my job.

You need to ask for the root certificate of the proxy server that your company's network uses to connect you to the internet.

I assume you have created exceptions for commonly used sites, but it would be a more global solution to have your IT supply a certificate you can import into Firefox to trust all of the fake certificates presented by your proxy server.

@finitarry When I look at the technical details, I see, "The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown." I tried the advice on the webpage you provided, (deleting the cert8.db file) and it still didn't work.  :(

@jscher2000 I think this is the way to go, but I'm not an expert with certificates and security. Could you tell me exactly what I need to ask for from the IT department? When I google for this, I see phrases like "certificate authority", "root ca", "root certificate", "certificate chain", etc. I'm not sure what I should say I need precisely over the phone.

Thanks cor-el, I called them and asked for exactly that, and they hooked me up. Now I don't get that warning message.

Thanks!
