I got "Firefox out of html5 offline storage space" error message downloading big files
I got this message when I try to download a big file from a website, after some GB were downloaded. The site is a "cloud storage" with their own download method so it's not a Firefox error but maybe I can fix it through some configuration. I tried changing some about:config settings but it doesn't work. Please, I need to know how to extend this space, or if there is a way to empty this cache without close the browser (I can see the partial file I'm downloading growing up in a personal folder outside of the Firefox's temporary folders, so I think the cache is not necessary after all). Thanks in advance.

Firefox has no limit on the IndexedDB database's size. The user interface will just ask permission for storing blobs bigger than 50 MB. This size quota can be customized through the dom.indexedDB.warningQuota preferenceこの回答をすべて読む 👍 1

My guess would be MEGA, which uses a very unique download method. Instead of the conventional cache and TEMP folder, it uses an offline database in your main profile folder as a transit point. (At least, that was true the last time I looked into it.)
They have a Firefox add-on which may help if you don't have it: https://mega.co.nz/#firefox
If you already have that, I wonder where the size limit is coming from?

Thanks for your answer. Yes, it's MEGA (I didn't know if it's ok to mention a site in this forum :)). I already have the add-on, but it's the same error. It doesn't have any configuration option besides the destination folder :( Thank you!
Do you have the newer version from their site? I noticed the version on the Mozilla Add-ons site is much older.
Firefox has a 5MB limit, and then you give permission for the site to store more, and I'm not aware of ceiling after that. However, this is an advanced feature so maybe someone else will be able to assist.

Yes, I've installed directly from the site. I asked in Mega too, so if I find some way to flush the cache or some other solution I'll post it here. Thanks!

I post the solution to show my shame. This never was a Firefox error, and blinded by the error message I didn't realize I wanted to download a >4GB file to an external FAT32 drive. Sorry for your time and thank for the answers.
Thank you for the follow-up. I never would have thought of that.
