A way to store bookmarks in specific folders

more options

I have been looking for functionality that used to exist on older versions of Firefox (at least 29.0 and prior) and not on the newer ones, at least not in an obvious way. Clicking the star will save the bookmark, but under Unsorted Bookmarks which is useless. Double clicking the star will get you the same filing options as before but for some reason it does not show all folders, just a few, also useless. What I found works well is the following. 1 highlight the url in the address bar that you want to file 2 click and hold the url and drag it to the bookmark icon next to the star until it all existing bookmarks and folders show up underneath 3 go to the folder in which you want to save the bookmark and drop it in there by releasing the mouse button.

Hope that helps all the frustrated people.

On the page you want to bookmark, do a right click in an empty area of the page. At the top of the menu, press the Star. Hot key; <Control>
(Mac: <Command>) D.

Or, Press the bookmarks Star on the toolbar. This will place a bookmark in the Unsorted Bookmarks Folder. To edit or move that bookmark, press the Star again.

A window will come up with the name of the page and its web address. You can edit these entries.

Next, select what bookmarks folder you want this bookmark in. If you do not see that folder, go to the far right of the Folder line, and press the down arrow. You can also create a new folder.

The short "useless" list sounds like the drop-down with most recently used folders. You still should be able to expand the complete folder hierarchy. If it has closed up, there are small triangles on the left side to expand it, or if a folder is selected, you can use the right arrow key to expand it. I have attached a screen shot since this is a little difficult to describe.
