Am I able to select a menu item with a single click like on Chrome?
Hello.
If I am on Chrome, I am able to open a new window by left clicking the 'hamburger' menu button in the top right, holding the left click button down and releasing it on top of 'Open New Window'. I don't have to release the click button and click again. This greatly improves productivity.
Any option to do the same on Firefox?
Note - if I enable the menu bar at the top (File, Edit...), then Firefox behaves in the same way as Chrome. This would solve my issue, however, I like the simplicity and space conservation of the hamburger menu.
In short, I'd like the behaviour of the full menu (with respect to single clicking) to be the same in the 'hamburger' menu.

There are toolbar buttons available for a new tab ('+' on Tab bar) and a new window (in the Customize palette) that you can use to open a new window.

Hello Matthew Thompson,
I don't use (have nor want) a mouse, but I just put my cursor on the 'hamburger' menu item that I want to open and click - it opens in a new tab.
That doesn't happen when you do it ?
(I haven't enabled the menu bar either .... )
New Window hotkey <Control> N
Hey McCoy, thanks for the reply.
It's a bit hard to explain what I mean unless you try it yourself with a mouse. In Google Chrome, left click the hamburger menu, but rather than releasing the mouse button, continue holding it down. Then move your mouse over the 'new window' button and release the click. Firefox doesn't behave the same way. It expects a second click.
When you're proficient you can do this really quickly, all in one motion, without even looking at the menu.
Keyboard shortcuts are not an option I'm afraid. I want a quick way to open a new tab/window with a mouse.
I'm just so used to the Chrome behaviour that it's frustrating to change when it feels like a step back.

I find it way easier not to use a mouse, but I'm a "less is more"
kinda girl.
I'm sure someone else will come to your rescue, though !
No worries at all. I don't think I explained myself clearly enough so your input was helpful to prompt me to elaborate. Thanks!

I know exactly what you mean ! (I too hate change ... )
But "my way" really isn't a step back; quite the opposite - give it a try and you'll see ! Just one click on the 3-bar menu button and one click on the item you want to open, and : voilà !
But I'll stop nagging and let someone else show you how to do it with a mouse.

Adding a new window button to the toolbar is a pretty good work around for the time being. Thank you.
