Firefox Doesn't Work...Profile Crash Again
Ok so recently I made a post about the issue of Firefox crashing and having to reinstall it, then kind of fixing it by moving my old profile into this one. Thing is, Firefox crashed on me. Again. And now my profile is yet again, deleted. I tried doing the same thing I did but it didn't work. But there's actually two Firefox folders, one that refuses to leave my desktop (I was actually planning on asking for help on this one) and one that I put in the Application Support place. None of it is working though. It could just be because my computer has some issues though, (it's an old one, 2-4 years old and the sides are a bit damaged because somebody forced it into a tiny box and sent it back and I've also dropped it a few times, although I don't think that would impact it, and also Firefox crashes every so often when I open my bookmarks) this isn't the first time Firefox has crashed, only the first time it crashed and erased my profile. If it helps, I was clicking on my add-ons to get a tomato timer to go (after reinstalling it because some of my add-ons didn't work) and then it crashed, with the twirly rainbow circle. I force quit the app and came back. Voila. If anybody has any help, please do. I have work to do and I don't fancy doing it with this hanging over my head.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.
(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

hello amy,
if i am not mistaken, when you work with one profile you should be logged into a different profile at the time.
so in otherwords, if you are logged in as ABC then you should not be able to overwrite the current ABC with an older ABC. You would need to be logged in as XYZ in order to manipulate ABC.
but perhaps, it is not worth all the trouble.
is there a windows system restore point that you can invoke in order to return your system to a functional state? If so, then you should turn off the 'updating' feature in FF to prevent the issues you have from recurring.
I'm in a mac. I have the previous information from the previous browser, but I'm not sure what to do with it
i see.
there is a mozilla article on how to back up and restore firefox profiles.
i dont have the link readily available for you here.
but take a look and see if it provides you with the opportunity to restoring the older functional profile.
