Uninstalled Mozilla but it continues to crash.

I have uninstalled Mozilla firefox as i much prefer chrome and i don't really use Mozzila anymore. I was having some trouble with Windows Media player and the mods from Microsoft that because it was a BEX error it could have something to do with internet explorer, so i open up internet explorer and reset the security settings and as soon as i do this about 10 errors pop up over a time period of 1.5 minutes.

I looked at the error and it looks to be something to do with an auto updater but then again I'm not really a computer whiz.

If you no longer have Mozilla Firefox installed and your Google Chrome browser is crashing, your best bet would be to ask a question on the Chrome forum at http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/chrome

For problems related to Microsoft Internet Explorer or Windows Media Player, you should ask a question on a Windows forum such as support.microsoft.com/get-support/ or windowsbbs.com

Hey, you recently closed my thread due to it being "unrelated" i looked back at the question that i asked and it is Mozilla crashing, Even though its uninstalled I'm still getting crashing errors from Mozilla. 

I reopened the thread, since the question is about Mozilla (Firefox) crashes.

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash ID's to help us learn more about your crash.

  1. Reinstall Firefox, since you said earlier that you uninstalled it.
  2. Enter about:crashes in the address bar (that's where you enter your website URL) and press Enter.
  3. Copy the 5 most recent crash ID's that you see in the crash report window and paste them into your response here.

If you are unable to follow the above steps because Firefox crashes as soon as you open it, follow these instructions instead:

  1. Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
  2. In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
  3. From that explorer window, double-click on the Mozilla folder, then double-click on Firefox and then on Crash reports. Double-click on submitted.
  4. Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to View > Arrange Icons by > Modified to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
  5. Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
  6. Paste each ID with bp- into the reply window on the forums.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

Alice i reinstalled mozilla and typed that correctly and got "No crash reports have been submitted."

P.s if the error the crash starts happening again ill post a screen shot.

Ok so the crash happened again and there doesn't seem to be a relation in when the crash happens, here is a screen shot and error details:

I found a similar issue reported with a google search, which I've copied below:


So I've installed a couple of codecs last night to play some videos, since then, I keep having this annoying pop-up from Firefox which I didn't install in the first place saying it's stopped working.
(It's not in "Programs & Features" to uninstall)
Here's the report

I also found another support question from last month here, /questions/968838 which includes images that also show the same error you've posted, that refer to "BEX" and "Application Name: update.exe_Firefox"

The reply from cor-el in that thread was to scan for malware since A likely cause for BEX errors is malware.
