Just migrated from POP to IMAP and did not copy old emails. Can I fix losing all of them?

What a dummy I was. Converted my Thunderbird setup from POP to IMAP and skipped copying old emails. Docs say is can not easily be undone, so my question is can I do it even if it is hard?

Here is information for migration.. Delete your POP account

If you are converting your email account to IMAP from POP, you can delete the POP account when you are completely sure that you have moved all your important messages to the IMAP server (or into your Local Folders). You cannot easily undo this action, so make sure that you really don't need the messages stored in this account any more.

I would expect your old POP-connected account's folders to be in your profile.

  1. Enable viewing of hidden files.
  2. Locate your profile.
  3. Explore it to find the old account's data under "Mail".

I'd suggest importing these mailbox files into Thunderbird using the ImportExportTools add-on.
