When I open Firefox I get a small box in the centre of the page which contains :-

This sentence " Another program has changed your home page. " Then underneath are two buttons besides the following choices :- 1. "Do you want to revert to your old home page"

2. " do you want to continue with the new home page"

I'm getting fed up with answering this as I open and close Firefox lots of times in a day.

I did not have Microsoft Paint on my PC so I couldn't supple a screen shot of it.

You can check for recently installed suspicious or unknown extensions.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen or hold down the Shift key) to see if that has effect.

That sounds very nice but it means nothing to me. I've only been using Firefox for 2 days

There are several programs that can do this. One type is your protection programs. Another is adware.

Thanks FredMcD

I appreciate your input but I do not see the relevance to my problem.
